THE NAME CAME FROM A RIOT.

Neither one was my idea.

THE DREAM

I am not the kind of person who says God gave me a dream. I spent three decades as an atheist. I have two master's degrees in Christian apologetics, which means I have spent years teaching people to think carefully before they claim God told them something.

I still think that is what happened.

There were two scenes. In the first, a Major League pitcher was standing on the mound in the playoffs wearing a shirt that said Jesus Won. In the second, I was looking at a shirt that did not exist yet, the one that says Acts 2, The Great Revival. It is in the first drop now.

I woke up knowing I was supposed to build a Christian apparel company. Not sometime. Now.

ROWDY CHRISTIANS

In 2025 my church, Pursuit NW, held an outdoor worship event in Seattle. It turned into a riot. We got blamed for it. So we went down to City Hall to say so, and that turned into a riot too. A few months later we held another worship event and it nearly happened again.

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, talking it through with somebody, I said it out loud. We are the Rowdy Christians in town.

It was not a brand name yet. It was just the truest four syllables anybody had said about us.

Here is what it means. A Rowdy Christian is outspoken about their faith. People know. There is no version of knowing them where they do not know that. And a Rowdy Christian stands for their values and confronts evil, out loud, in public, working to change the culture and the lives of the people around them.

They are not quiet Christians.

Everyone who knows them knows they are a Christian, and knows what they stand for.

Shares their faith and stands up to evil, even when it gets them mocked or opposed.

MISSION-ORIENTED.

Faith with something to show for it. Evangelism, serving their church, actually being there.

RUSS BLAIN, FOUNDER

I have been a business leader for thirty years. Three of them were in handbags, which is a story for another time.

I was also an atheist for thirty years. I grew up Baptist, left it behind, built a career, ran companies, sat in the CFO chair more than once, and was completely certain the whole thing was nonsense. In 2014 I watched my mother die of cancer while her pastor prayed over her and over me. I did not want it. For about a year afterward I kept getting the same thought: you had better figure out what you actually believe. In the spring of 2016 I stopped arguing.

Now I have two master's degrees in Christian apologetics, I teach at Pursuit College, and I am on the safety team at Pursuit NW every Sunday morning.

I know what it is like to be on the other side of the conversation. That is why I think this brand can work. I am not trying to get you to shout at anybody. I am trying to get you ready for the moment somebody asks.

FROM AN IDEA TO YOUR CLOSET

Every design starts as a thought I could not shake, or in one case a dream. I hire a designer to draw it. We go back and forth until it is right, and then it goes up.

Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you order, that piece gets printed for you, and then it ships. I would rather print one shirt correctly than guess at a thousand.

I am picky about blanks. This is meant to be something you actually wear, not something you own.

ROWDY CHRISTIAN KINGDOM FUNDS

Ten percent of net revenue goes to Rowdy Christian Kingdom Funds, which supports ministries that are doing this out loud.

We are new, so there are no numbers to show you yet. There will be, and we will put them here.

FIVE YEARS

I want this to be the largest Christian apparel company there is.

Not because of the size. Because of what that number would mean: that a lot of people stopped being quiet at roughly the same time, and that some of them started because of a shirt.

That is the whole plan. Activate the church. Change the culture. Wear it while you do.
